Hydrotherapy Explained
Immersing oneself in water of different temperatures (contrast water therapy) can change both physiology and mood.
Warm water makes the blood vessels relax, flushing fresh blood through the body to vital organs, delivering nutrients and oxygen while gently removing toxins and lactic acid.
Once over the initial contact, a person who takes a cold plunge finds it invigorating. This is because wet and cold cause our surface blood vessels to contract, making blood move from the surface of the body to the core to conserve heat, and bathes the brain and vital organs with fresh blood, gently detoxifying the body.
Clean Design
Every detail of the Scandinative experience begins with uncompromising aesthetics – and cleanliness. A stone handwashing basin at the entrance invites guests to wash hands before the experience, introducing the beginning of a touchless experience throughout most of the spa.
HVAC systems will be designed to utilize outdoor air supply, exhausting 100% of return air, and equipped with filters that remove viral particles, using an HVAC system that maintains 40-60 percent humidity, known to reduce the spread of aerosols.
Efforts to stop COVID-19 can also be addressed on surfaces as well as the air. All counters, floors, walls, and seating will be engineered anti-bacterial surfaces.
Best practices for staff and visitors include sanitizing private lockers between each use, and individual locker areas, toilets, sinks and grooming stations in private compartments. Powerful UVC disinfection can be used to sterilize units between uses. Hygiene attendants will be present around-the-clock.
